Advanced Topics in Computer Music
The Center For New Music and Audio Technologies at U.C. Berkeley is located at 1750 Arch Street, at the top of the hill north of Tolman Hall.
Time: Fall semester Friday 10am-1pm
Units: 4 units,may be repeated for credit
Course format: Three hours of lecture and five hours of lab per week
Course Description: Technical and musical issues in the design and development of computer-based music systems including digital signal processing for the analysis and synthesis of sound, scheduling of multiple musical control processes, perceptual and cognitive models, user-interface design, reactive real-time control, and the analysis and representation of musical structure.
