Methodology

There are some rules or conventions that govern composers and choreographers in creating for the community. Society accepts only creative materials that meet the laid down stardards.

The most important of the communal standards is that dance-drumming must weave dance, drum music, and songs together into a beautiful and life-strengthening experience.

As a choreographer or composer in the African tradition, one has available tools with ancient pedigree even though the creative work is espected to speak fluently with contemporary community.
